You’re thirsty, and they sell you a watered down soda. You add too much water, and you’re eating watered down oatmeal. Although annoying neither constitutes a crisis. What is tragic is that many are experiencing a watered down version of Christianity. There are versions that bear little resemblance to the teachings of Jesus and his apostles. I don’t want to live according to a gospel that men have changed. I want to live according to a gospel that changes men. One of the biggest challenges believers will face living in these last days, will be how to maintain integrity and our convictions being subjected to so much peer pressure to compromise.
Romans 5:2 “But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.” That is really our hope; God’s grace is sufficient. Are we going to stay true to God’s word even though it may not be popular or politically correct? It’s been said the God’s word will comfort the afflicted, but that God’s word will also afflict the comfortable. Society’s values and morals are constantly changing but Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
Don’t settle for a watered down version of the real thing because God is real, His word is sure and eternity is a long time.
